I. Introduction

This policy describes how we use your personal data that we collect through our website – www.antigua.bg, as well as outside it, while explaining your rights regarding your personal data and how you can exercise these rights.

The protection of your personal data is important to us and we therefore are committed to protect the privacy of the personal information you provide to us, striving to comply strictly to the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27th of April 2016 on the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46 / EC (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR) and the Protection of Personal Data Act(PPDA).

When we collect personal data, we follow the principles of minimizing the processed data, legality, transparency and security. We only process personal data that is essential and relevant to the purposes of our business.

The administrator of personal data is the Honorary Consulate of Antigua and Barbuda in the Republic of Bulgaria, BULSTAT 176907072, hereinafter referred to as only the “Honorary Consulate” – Consular Representation with registered office and address of the office: Sofia 1000, 27 Petar Parchevich Str. , represented by Prof. Dr. Ivan Todorov Todorov – Honorary Consul of Antigua and Barbuda in the Republic of Bulgaria.

III. Categories of processed personal data, purposes of processing, legal basis and storage period.

As an administrator, the Honorary Consulate processes only that information (categories of personal data) that is necessary and related to its activities, as follows:

 

  • When you are contacting us by email or phone

Categories of personal data: When you contact us, we process the personal data you provide to us – such as name, telephone, email address, etc.

Regardless of the reason you share your personal information with us, we recommend that you do not disclose sensitive personal information: such as information about racial or ethnic origin, religion, trade union membership, sexual orientation, health status, etc.

Purpose: We use the data in order to answer to your inquiry.

Legal basis: The legal basis on which we process your personal data is your consent provided when you are contacting us.

Period: Your personal data that you provided when you have contacted us will be stored for the period in which we communicate.

 

  • When visiting the website of the Honorary Consulate

When visiting the website of the Honorary Consulate, we process your personal data through the so-called Cookies. Please read our Cookie Policy by clicking here for more information on the categories of processed data.

Purpose: To improve the presentation of relevant websites and the user experience; Measure your exposure to ads and online media by determining when, how often, and on which websites certain online ads, media, and other content are displayed on your device.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest on improving the quality of our website – regarding mandatory cookies (Article 6, paragraph 1, item “e” of GDPR); Explicit prior consent for other types of cookies (Article 6, paragraph 1, item “a” of the GDPR).

Period: Depending on the type of cookies.

We do not access information about sites you visit other than our website.

 

IV. Categories of external recipients of personal data

We will not share or distribute your data for marketing or other purposes to third parties.

We disclose personal data of state bodies and bodies in charge of public functions, within their powers, for the purposes of fulfilling legal obligations (Ministry of Interior, State Agency National Security, etc.).

The personal data of the subjects are not disclosed in a country outside the European Union or an international organization. If necessary, the data subject will be notified in advance and the Honorary Consulate will ensure compliance with all requirements of applicable law.

We will never sell your information to third parties or use it for purposes for which we have not informed you and have not given us prior consent.

 

V. Your rights as a data subject

As the data subject, you have the right to receive confirmation and / or detailed information, incl. copy of the personal data processed for you (right of access).

You may also object to the collection and further processing of your personal data, as well as request that it be amended (updated) or deleted (when we do not have a valid legal basis to continue processing it).

You also have the right to request a restriction on processing, i.e. to require the administrator to process data for specific purposes when they cannot delete them due to a legal obligation.

In cases where we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you have the right to object to the processing if you believe that we do not have such an interest.

It is also important to know that when the basis for data processing is your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

We will respond to each of your requests without undue delay within 30 days of receiving the request. If we are unable to do so for reasons beyond our control, we will notify you promptly, stating the reasons for the delay.
